I think the meals were just okay. Additionally, considering the price, there should be better standard of wines - or offer a premium package to pay for nicer wines, rather than charge $55 USD for a bottle

A beautiful paradise

Riu Palace was absolutely perfect. Everyone at the resort was soo kind and looked after us really well. A special thanks to Marshall Palm hotel manager at the resort for going above and beyond for us. We had an incredible time at Riu Palace and will definitely return to this paradise. We loved how Riu Palace was not overly crowded and just enough people. If you love crowd then Riu Atoll would be better for that.

Another one of the bucket list definitely a Plus!!!

Staff was helpful and attentive to all requests and needs the visuals were amazing. clear ocean bottom views, all types of sea life swimming around your feet. The Manager on site her name was Zully fixed our booking issues and gave us the room that we had hoped to enjoy for the celebration that we found ourselves on this beautiful island to celebrate.

I felt, I was misled in the type of accommodations that I was to receive upon checking in. Also it was a little difficult getting reservations to enjoy the Restaurant's, however we were able to get three of the four with some assistance from the staff.

What was the highlight of Riu Palace

Great property in a great location!

Overall, the property was excellent, and we enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel staff, especially in the bars and restaurants. We spent seven nights here, splitting our time between the Jr Suite (3 nights) with Beach Access and Overwater Suite (4 nights). Both room types had their charms, and I am glad we got to experience both. The Beach Access room was about 20-25 feet from the ocean. The beach was very calm and fun to swim in - there were a few small coral reefs close by, and we saw lots of colorful fishes. There were beach chairs under palapas near the water, but the occupants of the higher rooms with no beach access used to "reserve" these early in the morning (which was annoying because they were not using the chairs for 95% of the time they "reserved" them). The Overwater Suite was spectacular - we saw sharks, rays, turtles, and various schools of colorful fish right from the deck of our room! The room was almost identical to the beach access room, except for the deck over the water. We could take the stairs right into the ocean at all times and spend much of our time in the sea near our room. The housekeeping staff was excellent in this room. As vegetarians, we were able to find enough to eat ... the staff in the buffet accommodated our requests as much as they could (special shout out to sous-chef Vajra and maitre d Marshall). The restaurants varied a bit ... I'd recommend the Italian and the Asian fusion restaurants for vegetarians, but I would skip the Japanese restaurant.

Two parts of the stay were suboptimal - the transfer and (for one of the days) the dive shop. This is what dropped the rating from a 10 to a 9. Scheduling the transfer felt like a bureaucratic process ... I requested a seaplane transfer 2-3 days before arrival but was told that I was too late (even though there was no specified deadline in any communications). We had to wait a long time during the transfers and wasted the entire last day. Also, we were not provided lounge access by the hotel transfer service on departure, even though the communications from the property implied we would. If you have a long wait, please make sure to ask the property proactively as there are no comfortable areas to wait prior to check-in (other than the lounges). The Dive shop was generally professionally run with excellent equipment (as one would expect from a 5-star PADI shop). The first day our guide was good and even agreed to take videos of us using our GoPro ... unfortunately he also lost my wife and she had to surface so he could find her. Unfortunately, the guide we got on the second day was very unfriendly ... when I pointed out that my tank only had 200 bar oxygen (as opposed to 230 on my wife's tank) he was very surly when I asked him to switch the tank out. At $200 for a 2-tank dive, the least one would want is for the tank to last the full 45 minutes! He also did not point anything out to us during the dive. As beginner divers with only 10 dives experience at that point, we expected the staff to be a little friendlier, more supportive, and not dismissive (almost to the point of gaslighting).

Paradise on a budget

Stunning space, wonderful people and a great escape.

It’s really a 4.5*. For all inclusive it’s good, but missed a level of excellence that you would hope for. For example, coffee in the room is sachets with creamer, for the cost you’d expect good coffee!

Absolute paradise

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The best part of our experience was the staff: cleaners, waiters/waitresses, maintenance staff, (the man with the slingshot!), reception staff, entertainment staff, chefs, buggy drivers (sorry if I’ve forgotten anyone)! It was so personal, delightful and the conversations with the staff didn’t feel at all forced- they were so genuine. The hotel was spotlessly clean- our room was cleaned to an exceptional standard everyday. Simple delights such as constant fresh towels and water available was amazing. The location is perfect and the food delicious. The palace was a perfect haven.

The only suggestion I have would be to serve proper cafetière ground coffee at breakfast rather than filter coffee.

Very good, except room service food.

The behavior of the staff, the cleanliness, the modernity of the facilities. Sameera is the best room boy, his cleaning up and tidying are flawless.

- the room service food was appalling- like a meal for elementary school kids- cannot believe it- 0/10 quality and uncooked tasteless - the Buggy service from Atoll to Palace back and forth was great, but I had an injury and even when I requested to be dropped directly to my room 1 buggy driver didn’t care at all. That seemed unreasonable to me. The other 3 buggy drivers listened and did their best to accommodate my request. -

It’s a nice hotel in terms of facilities but the food is not great.

Very friendly staff. This is my second stay here at the property. Entertainment was good.

The communication before I even arrived was not good. I was chasing the hotel a few times and they caused confusion regarding the hotel transfer. I would recommend some customer service training for this. The transportation to and from the hotel. There was lots of waiting around and leaving very early. On my return journey my flight from Male we were picked up at 4.30am- my main flight was at 12.30pm midday. We spent 4 hours waiting in Male airport unnecessarily. I didn’t see why we needed to leave so early on a Monday morning. There was no food or drink provided for the journey (I am 8 months pregnant) Food variety. Very limited and the same menu recycled for lunch and dinner from the main buffet. For an all inclusive, I did expect better. Need more dairy free milk options other than Soya. Limited buggy carts to transport you to and from one side of the resort to the other. Again, wouldn’t be an issue normally but I’m heavily pregnant so found it frustrating standing waiting around.

My Experience In Paradise!

The property was beautiful

I'm a travel agent and it hosts a group trip once a year I have many different people who book with me of all ages. I really didn't like the long walks you had to take to get to the Beachfront Suites back and forth to the pool and dinner they should really provide a cart service especially for handicap accessible people. On the upside of this I expressed my feelings and they did take me from the front door to my beachfront Villa to the necessary places I needed to go it was awesome thank you RIU Palace.
